Reportedly, Von Truong, lives in
Edmonton, Midwestern Alberta, won the $ 60 million lottery on 26 October last
year. After knowing that he won the prize the day
after the draw, he has kept it a secret since then.
As soon as Truong found out his winning the
prize, he ran to the store and asked the
clerk to print the winning number. It was to see if the number was certain
again. When he returned home, he continued to reaffirm the winnings for several
hours.
The winning numbers are 2, 3, 4, 8,
9, 20 and 30, which combine important dates and family birthdays. He moved from
Vietnam to Canada 30 years ago and has continued to buy lotteries with the same
number.
He explained that he decided to wait
for 10 months, not immediately, because he was overwhelmed by the size of the
prize.
"I started thinking about what
this winning would mean for my family," Truong said. "I realized that
a lot of things will change in the future. I wanted us to be prepared and ready
for all of those changes. ” “The first thing I thought was, 'Now I can pay back
everything!' That alone made me happy. ”
He also planned to buy a new home for
the family and save money for the future, he said. He added that he is not
thinking about quitting work and will continue to buy lottery tickets.
The lottery officials said the $ 60
million was the equivalent of winning the Lottomax, the biggest win in
Alberta's history. In September 2017, a couple won $ 60 million of Lottomax.
